Created in 2020

To create a portrait of a creature that we only see in motion is a great opportunity. To capture the color in a way the relates to the impact has almost a fantasy feel and the gold leaf just promotes that feel.
The initial line drawing is masked so that I can paint with the sizing for the gold leaf. The bird is done by blending and mixing color pencil and the resolving and tempering the color with graphite pencil.
