Created in 2022. This painting was one of Lawrence’s early excursions into more fantastical landscapes. He used concepts concerning the use of arbitrary color favored by the Fauvist School in an attempt to create a work halfway between the clarity of an iconic blue sky and grassy foreground hill, using vibrant colors as one might “see” in a dream some lazy, dreamy afternoon.
